Schools out due to snow!!!

snow day [snou dei] n.
:a day off from school due to inclement weather resulting in monster migraines for adults and wild unadulterated joy for kids.

When you were a kid there was nothing cooler than a Snow Day, right? It's a great day for snow ball fights anf building snow forts and igloos. A Snow Day means no school, no rules and endless possibilities.
Weatherman Tom Brandston (Chevy Chase) announces a Snow Day and the fun begins. Snow Day's are unpredictable, one minute you're having fun the next you have to shovel out of your driveway. Anything can happen. For 15-year-old Hal Brandston played by Mark Webber, "anything" means that this is his chance to declare his love for the girl of his dreams, high school heartthrob Claire Bonner (Emmanuelle Chriqui) who doesn't even know he exists. Unfortunately for Hal, the beautiful and popular Claire's ex-boyfriend is super jock Chuck Wheeler played by David Paetkau. With Hal's pals Bill and Lane to cheer him on, this day may be destined to change his life forever.

Now try to remember this is a child's vision of winter and that this is a family movie, so the image of the nefarious Snowplowman can be a scary idea. At least it is in this movie. Now, while Hal's out attempting to win Claire's heart, his 10-year-old sister Natalie (Zena Grey) is driven to action by the object of her own desire: the legendary Second Snow Day. Can you remember what it was like to get two days off in a row due to snow. I remember them but in Canada it can happen on more than one occassion. Ah yes those igloos I used to build. Yes I used to like building igloos for real. The Second Snow Day represents the ultimate triumph of kids over the dull day-to-day adult world. Second Snow Days are so rare that no one Natalie knows has ever experienced one. Why? It is all due to the dreaded Snowplowman, who crushes kids' hopes by cleaning up the snow and eliminating the possiblities of a Second Snow Day. Oh back to my igloos for a second. My enemy used to be the snowploughs that came by because they used to bury my igloos. Unfortunately one time he partial buried me in one, so that snowplougman was definitely not my friend. Back to Natalie. She has a plan to change things and not even the Snowplowman can stop her. Could a ploughjacking be in order. Well, you will have to see the movie to find out if Hal succeeds with Claire and if Natalie can conquer Chris Elliot who plays the Snowploughman. By the way most of the adult actors in this movie are there for show. The real cast here are the child actors. This is a good movie to take the kids to, buy them some popcorn sit back and enjoy the nostalgia of those snow days you remember.
